Age 67, a resident of Frankfort, formerly of Homewood and Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Loving husband of Deborah (Hook) Sumner; beloved father of Gabriel (Kimberly) Sumner and Graham (Jennifer) Sumner; beloved brother of Hayward (Beryl) Sumner and William Sumner; cherished grandfather of Adelle, Charlotte, Edward and Graeson Sumner and fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Roger Sumner, Constance (Graves) Sumner and Marguerite Cole-Sumner; siblings Robert Sumner, William Cole, David Cole, Dick Cole, and Marilyn Wheeler. He worked for Dominicks and Summit Hill School District, and was a member of Tinley Park and Frankfort United Methodist Churches. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 3:00PM until 8:00PM. Funeral Service in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Joliet Area Community Hospice www.joliethospice.org or the American Diabetes Association www.diabetes.org would be appreciated.
