Stained Glass Emblem

Catherine Marie Hudek (Russo)

Age 58 of Monee, was called to Heaven by her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 23th 2016 in the arms of her husband and daughter.

Catherine is survived by her loving family, husband Frank Giordano Sr.; daughter Misty (John) Totzke; step children Kimberly (Dennis) Ursitti, Frank (Christine) Giordano Jr., Sherry (Nick) LaMonto, Mark (Terra) Giordano and Tammy (Rick) Kesteloot; siblings Judy Russo, Debbie (Ron) Smith, Fran (Jeffrey) Brescia and James (Michelle) Russo; nephews Jimmy Russo Jr., Dustin Smith and Joey Russo; step grandchildren and countless extended family and friends.

Catherine was preceded in death and welcomed home by her parents James and Stella (nee Jusik) Russo, aunts, uncles, grandparents and former husband Ronald Hudek.

Cathy will be remembered as the matriarch of her family – loved and cherished by anyone who met her. She was the one who would give everything she had, including the shirt off her back, to anyone who needed it. She was the model of unconditional love, service and giving to others. Her golden heart will no doubt be what she is most remembered for. She loved cooking, traveling, gambling, dancing, being with her family, her dog Harley, being the idea person, hosting holidays for a crowd and keeping everyone on their toes. In her healthier years, she had anywhere from 2-3 jobs at once - excelling at everything she did - as a waitress, real estate agent, office manager for Dr. Jeff Dorf and office manager and go-to woman at Illinois Transport with Frank. She selflessly took on the responsibility to help and/or provide for her parents, siblings and daughter's needs – at one point, all at once – before she fell ill.

Family will receive friends in celebration of Cathy's life on Friday, December 30th, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 31st, 2016 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:15 AM and then to St. Anthony Church, Frankfort for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow to Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in her memory would be appreciated. The family requests that any monetary donations given at the time of the celebration be made payable to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Cathy was the cook and party planner of the family, always making an over-abundance of food to feed 5 armies. If you wish, the family asks for food to be brought to Cathy's celebration service on Friday December 30th.
