Anne Elizabeth Kennedy (nee Hudson)
81, of New Lenox, was surrounded by her family as she went to be with her Lord on January 24, 2018.
Anne was born in St. James, MN on November 17, 1936 to Herbert and Adelaide (nee Griffin) Hudson.
She married Claude M. Kennedy on December 27, 1954 and had three daughters. She moved to Illinois, and in 1968 Anne and her family moved to New Lenox where she lived in the same house for the remainder of her life.
Anne worked for Goldblatt's Department Store, Rushing Carpet Service, and finished her working years at The Recorder of Deeds Office in Joliet. Anne did accounting work at the VFW in New Lenox until she was 80 years old.
Anne is survived by her daughters Christine Kennedy, Patricia Kennedy, and Julia (Scott) Reich; grandchildren Sarah Schubert, Jennifer Benedict, Cody (Mia) Schubert, Anne Carlson, Erin (Jeff) Dwyer, Andrea (David) Diamond, David Carlson, and Elizabeth Carlson; great grandchildren Samuel Benedict, Keira Modeer, Eli Schubert, Wesley Schubert, and Maiya Modeer; a sister Donna Stoesz.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Adelaide Hudson; brothers Sidney Hudson, and James Hudson; and a sister Margaret Jean Cooper.
Anne enjoyed hosting family gatherings, gardening, playing cards, playing wahoo, and a nice glass of wine. She was happiest when she was gathering vegetables from her garden, taking a fish off her line, snuggling with her cat Lady Slipper, playing Gin Rummy, relaxing on the couch with a glass of wine, and most of all spending time with family. She is loved and will be missed by many!
In keeping with her wishes, services and interment will be private.
