Condolence & Memory Journal

I met Karen while she was working with students and I was doing Meals on Wheels from the township building in New Lenox. What a blast of a lady she was! She fought the good fight when the paraprofessionals were unionizing at Lincoln-Way and then with the demon that eventually took her life. Every inch of the way Karen showed her tough but gentle nature, serious yet humorous demeanor, and her steadfast love for friends and family. Lord, we will certainly miss her.

Karen, my neighbor, my friend. Words cannot express the weight of my heart and the emptiness it feels. You become so much more than a neighbor after all these years and I will miss you more than words can express. I will cherish the time we spent together and the memories. Rest my friend and know how much you were loved.

Today would have been the 53rd birthday of my mother, Karen Javorski, had she not passed away just three days ago on Easter Sunday. As I write this, my heart is in anguish. Even so, there is a tremendous sense of relief among Karen's loved-ones, including myself, knowing she is no longer tormented by the cancer she battled with for nearly three years. Karen did not fear the Earthly concept of death, as her faith in God's plan for what comes afterwards remained unshaken.

Mom, thank you for the unconditional love you have given me and so many others. You exemplified what it means to be selfless, smart, kind, wise, brave, honest, witty, and beautiful in lifeeven at your last moment. Alike, your family and friends are hurting dearly right now. Though, together, we will heal the holes in our hearts over time by following your example on Earth.

Rest in peace at your eternal home in Heaven, Mom. I love you.

Your middle J-Boy,
Ryan
