Age 93 late of Lockport, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 19, 2017. Born in Muskegon, Michigan, raised in Chicago.

Wally was a WWII Navy Veteran who enjoyed life working, fishing, camping, spending time with family especially grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine (Gerry), parents, Wallace Sr. and Anne (Tuka) Copeland, brothers, Robert (Ethel), Donald, and sister Mary Copeland.

Survived by his children, Gerri (the late Daryl) Ward, Wallace III (Rosemary) Copeland, Lin (Bern) Mulvaney, Bob (Kathryn) Copeland, and Don Copeland; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a brother Jim (Ella) Copeland.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28th, 2017 from 3 to 9 PM at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, Lockport, IL 60441. Funeral service, Wednesday, November 29th, 2017 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and then to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 410 S. Jefferson Street, Lockport, IL 60441 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment, St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the VFW National Home for Children and Families: c/o Joe Martin, VFW POST 5819, 15780 New Avenue, Lemont, IL 60439 would be appreciated. To the whole Copeland Family,

I met Wally by chance and then became friends with him and his family. It was a pleasure to know him and take care of him. My heart goes out to all of you. R.I.P Wally.
