My condolences to Paul's family. He was a fine man. He and Dorothy were among the first people we met when we moved to River Wilderness and we missed them when they moved away. God bless you all.

Sorry for your loss, Paul was my first VP and conducted many training sessions via video from Chicago to NYC while at CNA, he inspired all us "juniors" to do the right and professional thing for clients. Later as an arbitrator, his collegiality , thoughtfulness and knowledge made for effective panel proceedings.

I met Paul when he was Chairman of the Reinsurance Association of America and he approved the RAA hiring me as General Counsel. I was with the RAA over 14 years and spent many business and social times with he and Dorothy. We were delighted when Paul and Dorothy stopped in to visit us at our home in Maine. They were a wonderful couple, truly sincere and lovely people. For many years Paul has sponsored a November industry dinner in New York and always began with our industry friends who had passed on before us. I can think of no better tribute this November that our industry friends can make to him. Paul was truly one of the most dignified people I have known. His integrity and character were uncompromising. He was fair, sincere and the salt of the earth. We will miss him in an industry that he contributed so much to and a world that he left a better place for his having touched us. Our sincere condolences and prayers are with his ear family.

We were saddened on learning of the passing of our friend Howie. He was a fine man and he will be missed. Our prayers go out to the family. We are comforted by the fact he was a Baptized Christian and is in Heaven with his Savior and that we shall see him again.

May the peace of Christ be with you.

I met Paul originally through the Reinsurance Association of America largely in a social context. But I got to know him much better through a large number of arbitrations in which we were panelists. His professional background was underwriting but he had a great deal of curiosity, and a remarkable ability to grasp, other disciplines such as mine which is legal. It was always a pleasure to work with Paul and I will forever use him as an archetype of a great arbitrator and person.
