Ms Vonch cared about her students. She was a most talented and dedicated teacher. Marilyn made a significant difference in the lives of those she taught. She is missed!

Miss Vonch. She was an excellent teacher amongst a group of excellent teachers at Lockport West High School. But she shined. I was in her speech class for 2 years. Her commitment to her students was unflinching. I know that here encouragement allowed me, an otherwise shy reserved student, to have enough confidence to come in 2nd place 2 years in a row at the regional speech competition. She was a drama coach to my sister, Linda. Linda was an

Wow! I don't even know where to begin to tell the ways that Marilyn (I think I might be old enough to call Miss Vonch by her first name) has impacted my life and the lives of my family.

I first met Marilyn in 1963 when she taught at the newly built LWHS. This must have been her first teaching gig because she was all of 23 when the school year began. I was a Freshman at this brand new

Ms. Vonch was a wonderful teacher who encouraged me to join the speech team...it was the most fun ever! She definitely made a wonderful mark on the world thru her teaching career!

When my boss refused to give me the day off to attend an honor banquet for seniors, Ms. Vonch called her. I'd love to know what Ms. Vonch said because my boss was full of apologies. What a great lady. From one English teacher to another, thanks Ms. Vonch.

I will always remember and appreciate knowing Ms. Vonch as an extraordinary person who had a gift of teaching. I had the pleasure of being one of her students at Romeoville High School in the 70's.
She was always so cheerful and took a special interest in her students.
Rest in peace. <

Teacher, Director of Speech, Drama and Department Chairman at RHS. She excelled at all of these positions. Her value system was solid, especially her dedication to the companionship and care for her mother. Her dedication to her students and staff was superior. Her impact on those mentioned is that of an excellent teacher. My sympathy to her family and close friends.
Sincerely,

Dave Hennessey

I am saddened by Marilyn's passing. She was a great teacher and taught me a lot about speech.
